Welcome, my name is Dr. Alexander Bauer. I am a self-employed engineer specializing in materials testing and corrosion protection in the Nuremberg area. Contact me in all matters relating to destructive and non-destructive testing. With my experience in auditing accredited testing laboratories and steel plants, I can assist you on quality management and certification processes.
I can support you with any questions you may have about metallic materials and corrosion protection coatings.
From a single source you get
- A comprehensive portfolio of destructive laboratory tests
- Non-destructive Measurements and preservation of evidence on site
- Evaluation of the test results and preparation of expert reports
- Advice on quality assurance and quality management
Corroded or leaking drinking water or heating pipes as well as the associated defective elements such as stopcocks, fittings or casings can be responsible for the occurrence of costly water damage.
Hot-dip galvanized or organically coated steel constructions repeatedly show signs of corrosion. This is often a danger not only for the optics, but also for the functionality of the system.
Mechanical overload is another area of damage investigation. Broken load-bearing elements such as axles, shafts or screws repeatedly lead to major property damage or accidents.
The investigations regarding the weldability or the material parameters specified in the 3.1 certificate provide certainty about the suitability of the product.
I acquired my skills in the field of materials science and corrosion during my studies and subsequent doctorate at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. During my several years of work as a damage analyst at TÜV Rheinland LGA Bautechnik GmbH in Nuremberg, I gained a lot of experience with failure analysis cases (> 200) of all kinds. The certification as DIN-tested inspector of corrosion protection coatings level C and the public appointment as sworn expert in the field of corrosion and corrosion protection from the Nuremberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce are proofs of my competence in the field of corrosion of metallic materials.
In the field of quality management, I can draw on many years of experience in inspecting the factory production control of manufacturers of metallic construction products. Since this year, I have been appointed by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) as an expert assessor for testing laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025) and certification bodies (ISO/IEC 17065).
